The Program

The primary goal of the ITI Scholarship Program is to help young clinicians further their training in implant dentistry and related treatments. The ITI awards approximately 20 Scholarships each year as one of its contributions towards fulfilling its mission "to promote and disseminate knowledge on all aspects of implant dentistry and related tissue regeneration through research, development and education to the benefit of the patient". The program allows ITI Scholars to gain insight into case planning, implant surgery and prosthetic restorations and fosters international exchange along with professional networking as an enriching educational experience.

ITI Scholars spend their Scholarship year at one of the ITI Scholarship Centers around the world. These are university departments or clinics under the supervision of longstanding ITI Fellows. The ITI supports each ITI Scholar with a grant of CHF (Swiss Francs) 40,000 towards living expenses during the year.

The ITI Scholarship Centers have been chosen for their ability to provide insight into every aspect of implant treatment for patients. Each Center and its Scholarship coordinator organizes the Scholarship program independently. Candidates can determine where their needs would be best served by reading the descriptions of each of the ITI Scholarship Centers on this website. Any issues or queries may be discussed before application by contacting the Centers directly.

In order to orient and integrate the Scholar into the ITI and its activities, each ITI Scholar is given free ITI membership for the Scholarship year. Membership includes a valuable welcome package with the latest ITI Treatment Guide, ITI Consensus paper and a copy of the Forum Implantologicum, the ITI's bi-annual membership magazine. The majority of ITI Scholarship Centers are in countries with an ITI Section and all ITI Members are automatically invited to Section activities such as (annual) meetings, ITI Study Clubs and national ITI Congresses. In addition, ITI Members have access to the ITInet, the ITI's social and professional networking platform at a global, Section and personal level. There are additional benefits such as regular literature updates and selected congress reports as well as a lower Member registration price for the ITI World Symposium, the ITI Education Weeks and ITI Training Courses.
