Scholarship Application

The portal for ITI Scholarship applications opens on this page October 1 each year until November 15. The ITI Scholarship application requirements are available to read throughout the entire year. Please study them very carefully as incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Application guidelines
To apply for an ITI Scholarship, click on the link above once the portal is open.

ITI Members are requested to enter their login information (email address and ITInet password), while non-ITI-Members must enter a valid e-mail address and create a password - use this login information each time you return to your application form.

Applicants are required to fill out the application form exactly as stated, uploading documents as requested. The information must be saved after each session. Applicants may return to their application form and make any corrections or additions until the official deadline, November 15. It is possible to print out the application before you submitting it. The form only should be submitted when you are sure that all the necessary information has been included. After submission it is no longer possible to make any changes or print out your application.

The application form includes all the details normally found on a CV. It is therefore not required to upload a CV. Candidates should upload their letter of intent (PDF) that details their interest and goals for the Scholarship year at the place specified in the application form. The letter should outline the candidate's professional plans for the future. A photo (JPG) and two letters of recommendation (PDF) are also required. Where possible, one of the letters of recommendation should be provided by an ITI Fellow. Candidates must fill in all the information required on the online application form, including naming two different Scholarship Centers in order of preference. Candidates must have a good working knowledge of the language spoken at the Centers they have listed (please refer to each ITI Scholarship Center description). Applicants must not apply for a Scholarship Center if they cannot speak any of the required languages. The application form and letters must all be written in English and addressed to the ITI Scholarship Committee.

Only online applications that are complete and submitted by the deadline will be considered.

Please refer to the application requirements for detailed information.

Selection process
Once the application portal has closed, all the submitted applications are forwarded to the ITI Scholarship Committee for evaluation. The Committee Members evaluate the submissions and then meet to discuss them and select the ITI Scholars for the coming year. As there are normally up to 200 submissions, the evaluation process takes a number of months. The Committee's decision is sent out to all applicants around 6 months after the application portal closes. Applicants who have been accepted as ITI Scholars will receive a Welcome letter from the ITI and, once they have begun their Scholarship year, will also receive a welcome package.
